Summary
We do not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information. Alarm is an offline application. It has no user accounts, no backend service, no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics. Data you create in the app stays in your device's own storage.
Information we collect
None. We operate no servers that receive your data, so there is nothing for us to store, log or disclose. Specifically, the app does not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, advertising identifier, or any usage or crash telemetry.
Information stored on your device
The following is written to your device's private app storage, which other apps cannot read:
- Your alarms — time, label, repeat days, chosen sound and vibration, and options such as gradual wake, super loud and wake-up missions.
- App settings — haptics, living sky, 24-hour time and reduce motion.
- Imported alarm sounds — if you choose your own audio file, a copy is kept privately so the alarm still works if you later move or delete the original.
Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of it. There is no backup held anywhere else.
Location
If you allow location access, the app requests a single coarse, city-level position and uses it to compute sunrise, sunset and twilight times with standard solar equations. That calculation happens entirely on your device. Your coordinates are never sent to us or to any third party. Location is optional: decline it and the sky simply follows a fixed daily cycle instead.
Permissions and why each one is needed
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM
Registers your alarms with Android as real alarm clocks so they ring at the exact minute you set, even when the device is in Doze.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Shows the alarm itself and the silent countdown reminders before it.
USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT
Lets a ringing alarm take over the lock screen instead of appearing as a banner you might sleep through.
WAKE_LOCK
Keeps the screen awake while an alarm is ringing or the sunrise lamp is running.
VIBRATE
Plays the vibration pattern you chose for an alarm.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED
Re-arms your scheduled alarms after the phone restarts. Without it, a reboot would silently cancel every alarm.
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION
Calculates your local sunrise, sunset and twilight times so the on-screen sky matches your real one. The calculation runs on your device and the coordinates are never transmitted. Declining it falls back to a fixed daily cycle and the app works normally.
MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS
Raises the device volume for alarms you marked as super loud, and restores your original volume afterwards.
Motion sensor (accelerometer)
Detects shaking for the shake wake-up mission. It is only read while that mission is on screen and no motion data is stored.
Audio file access
Only used when you actively pick a custom alarm sound. The app copies that one file into its private folder and reads nothing else from your library.
Network activity
The app makes one kind of outbound request: it downloads its typeface from Google Fonts on first launch and caches it for later. That request is handled by Google and, like any web request, exposes your IP address to them. See the Google Privacy Policy. No other network connections are made, and none of your alarms, settings, audio or location are ever sent anywhere.
Children's privacy
The app is safe for all ages and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no data at all, there is nothing to delete on request.
Your rights
Regulations such as the GDPR and CCPA grant you rights to access, correct, export and delete your personal data. Because we hold no data about you, these requests have nothing to act on. You remain in full control of the data on your device: edit or delete alarms in the app, revoke permissions in Android settings, or uninstall to erase everything.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
